At the start of each semester, two weeks before PD begins, there will be an add/drop period where you may change events. This helps account for scheduling changes and priority changes. This is also a time to join a PD event if you did not get a chance to register during the Early Registration window.
The Add Drop period specifically will open up on the Monday two weeks prior to the start of PDC's. PDC's will usually begin in Week 2 of the Semester, so, for example in Fall 2018, they will begin September 4th. This would place the Add/drop period (two weeks prior) on August 20th.
The Add Drop period will close the week after it opens on Wednesday. To re-use the Fall 2018 example, the Wednesday that is the week following August 20th would be August 29th.
Doing registration requests for the Add/Drop period is just like registering during the Early Registration window, with one caveat, you can only submit a request for an event with open seats. You can quickly see if an event has open seats by checking the callouts in the event explorer, events with no seats available will have a "Full Capacity" label.

You can register for events in the add/drop period by clicking the orange Register button in the top right corner of the Event Advertisement page.

A modal will appear, please enter your registration reason and click "Submit". You will see that the button will have disappeared and you will now have a pending registration for the event.

During the add drop period you can drop out of an event that you previously registered for with no consequences. To do this, from your PD Dashboard select "View All Registrations"

From the Registrations page you can select the "Drop" action to remove the registration request. This will no longer appear on your transcript or anywhere else on the website.

After the Add/Drop period closes on Wednesday night at 9pm EST, managers will do a brief review and approval process Thursday and Friday. Much like Early Registration, you will reeive an email notification if a manager denies your request, or the PDP Sponsor accepts your registration request.
Add drop exists to meet a few needs:
Our hope is that the bulk of requests will be done during the Early Registration window, managers have a much smaller window of time to approve or deny requests during add/drop and won't be able to take as much time reviewing Plans of Work and speaking with their employees. If it is possible, try to plan out your PD during the Early Registration window and stick to it. Dropping and adding should not be done on a whim but because of a true issue.
